What to expect at Norden Hills Family Centre
Assessment Placement
Firstly, for your assessment placement; Please bring in your possession any essential items needed for you and your child/children e.g. Baby bottles, sterilisers, baby baskets, clothing for both etc. If you need help making your way to Norden Hills Family Centre, please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements for you.
Upon Arrival
Upon arrival at the Family Centre, we will first have a meeting with you to help you fully understand what to expect from the assessment and to set the objectives you will meet whilst staying with us.
For many parents, this helps to establish clarity and remove some of the initial worries and concerns related to uncertainty. By discussing and understanding the aims and objectives, will help you to determine how these will be met.
Providing A Safe Environment For You & Your Children
You and your child/children will be provided with a safe environment, where we can support and advise you on achieving the set objectives. The Norden Hills Family Assessment Centre allows you to care, play, bond and love your child/children. If at any time you have any questions, concerns or if you want to talk to us about anything regarding your stay or assessment please don’t hesitate to speak to anyone within the team.
Communication
As your placement at Norden Hills Family Centre progresses, our thoughts and findings will be constantly shared and discussed with you and your social workers. Everything is orientated to fostering an open and positive environment that is focused on one thing; you and your child/children. At our regular review meeting, we will also ask you for your thoughts, views and any concerns.
